NocoAI is the AI assistant built into NocoDB. Ask it in plain language to build bases, tables, views and dashboards, or to find, analyse and update your data.
NocoAI is the AI assistant built into NocoDB. You tell it what you want in plain language, and it does the work in your base: it builds tables, fields and views, answers questions about your data, updates records, and sets up dashboards, workflows and interfaces.
Open it from the NocoAI button at the bottom-right of any base in NocoDB.

What you can ask NocoAI to do
- Build a base : describe a use case and NocoAI creates the tables, fields, links and views for it. It can create up to 20 related tables in one step.
- Change the structure : add, rename, modify or delete tables and fields, including formulas, links, lookups and rollups.
- Shape your views : create any view type, show or hide fields, and add filters, sorts, grouping and row colours.
- Work with records : find, count and summarise records, and create, update, link or delete them in bulk.
- Import files : turn an attached CSV, Excel or JSON file into a new table, or add it to an existing one.
- Build dashboards : create a dashboard with charts, metrics and text in one request.
- Automate : draft workflows, edit them step by step, and publish them.
- Build interfaces : create interface pages for your team, then edit and publish them.
- Write docs : create and edit NocoDB Docs pages and reply to comments.

How NocoAI works
- It knows where you are. NocoAI sees the table, view, dashboard, doc or record you have open, so "sort this view by date" works without naming the view. You can also
@-mention a table. - It shows its steps. Each action appears in the chat as a step you can expand to see what NocoAI sent and what came back.
- It asks before destructive actions. Deleting a table, field, view, record, dashboard, doc or interface, and publishing a workflow, waits for you to click Approve .
- It follows your role. NocoAI can only do what your base role allows. A viewer can ask questions about data; changing the structure of a base needs the Creator role.
- It accepts files. Attach up to 5 files (10 MB each), such as CSV, Excel, JSON, PDF or images, to import or analyse them.

Availability
- NocoAI is available on NocoDB Cloud (Plus plan and above), where usage is metered by credits included monthly with your plan. On self-hosted deployments, AI requires configuring your own AI integration (Business plan and above).
